FAQ
Why no Venus Atlas 3D?
Although we’re actively exploring how to bring the Atlas 3D technology to Venus, there are unique challenges - not least the fact that it’s impossible to image the surface of Venus directly because of the cloud cover. However, high resolution radar imagery is available, and we’re experimenting with using this and if the results are acceptable you can expect to see this app before too long!
What about minor planets like Ceres?
This is an option we’re also exploring - some of these worlds do have fairly good imagery thanks to deep space probes. We’re not sure at this time how best to provide these worlds - as a single app per world, or as a self contained ‘minor planets’ bundles.
What about other moons?
Other moons are a possibility too - but imagery is quite spotty. We’re interested to hear your thoughts - would you want to see a world even if there was only 50% coverage in strips here and there?
Do I have other buy the iOS and Mac apps separately?
No! Each app purchase is installable as a Mac app and as iOS (iPhone and iPad). Although they share a common codebase, each app has been tweaked to provide the best experience on each platform.
Any plans to bring these to Android or Windows?
Not at this time - these are are highly tuned to make the most of Apple Silicon technologies like native Metal rendering. Bringing them across to Android or Windows would mean a major port.
